This page is intended for other Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) and their compliance teams to understand what to expect when one of your customers is sending to or receiving cryptocurrencies from Luno and the Travel Rule applies.

Luno’s Travel Rule provider

Luno is a member of Notabene. Notabene allows us to securely exchange Travel Rule information with your compliance team, regardless of which protocol your business uses or whether you have any Travel Rule solution in place yet.

Sending crypto to a Luno customer

If you’d like to send Travel Rule information to Luno, we request that you do though Notabene.

You don’t need to be a Notabene member to make use of this but, for verification purposes, you will be required to provide certain details about your VASP.I

Receiving crypto from a Luno customer

If you receive Travel Rule information from Luno, it means that the customer sending the crypto is located in a country where the Travel Rule has been incorporated into local legislation and, accordingly, Luno is discharging its Travel Rule obligations by sharing certain information with you. Your team will receive the information via an encrypted email generated by Notabene. You do not need to be a Notabene member to make use of this. Once you have received the Travel Rule information, you may have corresponding Travel Rule obligations depending on where your platform and/or customer is based. If the Travel Rule does not apply, no further action is required from your team.
